Voces en EEB
Many researchers in our department grew up speaking Spanish and/or conduct researchers in Spanish-speaking places. Our group meets weekly to discuss science in Spanish. We help learners practice communicating in Spanish and we facilitate a fun community space for native/advanced speakers. EEB Grad Peer Mentorship Program "Someone like me" mentoring programs have been successful at improving retention and community. We pair new graduate students with current graduate students that share identities. Pairs meet several times throughout the year to foster community and ease transition to graduate school.
